The Luxury Monteray

Damn I love my factory-built custom. Just as it left the band in LA summer 1950. And to date, it has rolled 76000 miles since. I am 4 owner on this non restored car. I found the car in Dallas TX Spring 2004 Time goes fast. Monteray introdecerades to the test in 1950 Approximately 800 of them was made ​​of this luxury car. The advertising brochure was it to go in 4 colors. Black / Yellow, Maroon / Black, Blue / Blue and White / Black. It was produced only in three colors the White / Black was never made​​. Since 1951, it became with the standard selection of Mercury as their luxury model.

This Roadster was found in this old barn. A few years later came up again as Jesus. In my opinion, perfect as 40'style Hot Rod. Glad they saved and will be appreciated again. No matter what age the owner has so spreading the same joy and energy that this car done for over 80 years!

AV8 Project part III

WOW! It start to look like a HOTROD!
But just for 5 minutes, it was no time for sitting in a corner with a beer and dreaming..

 

Offered one and a half day on sanding before epoxy primern.  Just the worst. The plan is to take it apart again and do a complete paintjob from scratch.. but that will be another winter..

Two days left.... I have to admit that I was a little stressed.. :)
 

My brother Ronnie has the best painting skills in this company so he operate the spray gun.

AV8 Project, part II

 LETS TURN ON THE MUSIC!!!
That was a really thrilling moment, I bought an engine on ebay which had stand in an shop for years, I brought it home Aaaand it purred like a cat! Ronnie did a facelift on it and installed the Lincoln dist that he sold me and my edelbrock regular intake. That’s will be good enough for this summer!

 Finally the chassie is rolling!! Really satisfied, it was 5 whole days left to the time travel meet! J

Time to continue the AV8 presentation!

The time for post pics and information about the growing AV8 did not exist the last weeks before the time travel meet, like the daily work, sleeping and everything else outside the garage!

But here comes an presentation of the last weeks before. Better late than never as we say in our elongated country sweden! :)

I got the chassie parts from powdercoating not even 3 weeks before the meet. But now we come to the fun part, to put everything in place!

Reaming the spindles, installing new bushes and put things together… I am lucky to be in my brothers garage which is like a hotrod speedshop, tools, help and parts...

One more lost -32 Roadster found
When I was to the U.S. in 2008. I created contacts with very good and nice people. Some of them I have re vent to a number of times . This body I found the above in an attic in an old car repair shop. I looked up the side panels covered in an old paint box . I asked the owner if it was for sale but only got a great smile and a heavy no for an answer . Every time I have been to him and all the times I talked to him on the phone , I asked on -32 Roadster and received the same answer. Until a dark autumn day in November 2012. Then I called honnom heading to Buddy Martin in Gothenburg. The same issue as 100 time before. Is the Roadster for sale ? And this time the answer was YES . 5 months later, I and my wife and dug it after been set aside for decades. We drove it inside our rental car from NE to LA . And now it home and test the assembled. The body is in very good. It has Never been damaged or repaired. It's like they say they are still out there or inside ! Keep your eyes open! Better to have that desire. Comes right time. DO IT. You never know if it shows up again.

Old Carson top CUSTOMS in wait for their time

A very good friend has these two old customs standing in a barn. Apparently have they been there a long time and will continue to do so. Too bad that such historic cars just standing. The Hidden NOS Ford Invertory

In the middle of nowhere in NE. A good friend of mine has a little nos parts for early Ford. It's just going around the shelves on collect the parts you want. This is a very good friend to have. When you are doing an early Ford. About half of the pieces have not come up on the shelves yet, so there's little parts laying around. The parts come from which future up-bought Ford's spare parts inventory. Have brought home many kilos from him. And will continue to do so.
